One of the early Sunday games features the (6-3) New York Giants against the (3-5) Cincinnati Bengals. The Giants are coming off a home game where they had the game won (thanks to some questionable calls) until the Steelers imposed their will on them and found a way to come back. The Bengals were picked apart by Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
I fully expect that the Giants rebound in this game and blasts Cincy with their pass rush, making Andy Dalton uncomfortable in the pocket, forcing them into some long 3rd downs. The Giants D Line is so talented that their game travels well, and they will be an angry bunch after giving away the game to Big Ben and Co.
Although Eli hasn’t played exceptional on the road this year (4 TDs – 2INTS) anything they can get in the running game will be a help. Expect Bradshaw to handle the rock consistently and have a solid game, and Eli and Nicks/Cruz to have a bounce back game. Cincy is allowing 27 points a game, and that bodes well for Nicks and Cruz to find the end zone.
On the flip side, The Bengals have been average on 3rd down this year, hovering around 30% conversions. It appears to me that teams have been paying attention in the film room on Dalton and the offense, and the ways that they get AJ Green the ball. Although Green has been getting his fantasy numbers, guys like Hawkins, and Greshim need to get their targets and move the chains. It will be another challenge this week with Justing Tuck, and JPP breathing down his neck. If the Bengals and the Law Firm, who has disappeared recently, can stick to a consistent running game, and show some balance – the Bengals can keep it close…. but Im under the impression that the Giants will take away the run, give their Corners some help over the top on Green, and force Andy Dalton to find other weapons to beat them.
The Giants will win this game comfortably –
Fantasy Studs – Victor Cruz – Hakeem Nicks – Jermaine Greshem – AJ Green
Duds – Andrew Hawkins, Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis
